ISDN - PRI
Integrated Services Digital Network-Primary Rate Interface is one of the most
flexible, multi-functional technologies available. It lets you transport voice,
data, and video over the same line, and increases your throughput over the
network, while saving you money.
What is ISDN?
ISDN is a set of international standards for voice, data, and signaling, for
end-to-end digital communication. It is a significant improvement over
traditional voice lines – not only because it brings you more bandwidth, but
because its out-of-band signaling uses that bandwidth more efficiently and
economically.
Essentially, ISDN-PRI is made up of two types of channels: B (bearer)
channels and D (data) channels, each of which carries a payload of up to 64
kilobits per second (a single voice call). D channels carry the signaling
associated with the service. The technology allows you to bond the channels
together to increase throughput up to 1.544 megabits per second.

Options
Electric Lightwave offers two ISDN options: 23 B channels plus one D
channel, or 24 B channels, either provisioned over a T-1 interface. We also
